The famous Levili Georgian Festival was closed with various cultural and sports events. The festival began on June 29 with the presentation of many entertainment events at Levili Historic Estate.
The festival is being organized at Levili Historic Estate on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia and with the support of the Government of Georgia. The Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia Tea Tsulukiani attended the final event of the Levili festival. She was accompanied by the Mayor of Levili, Eric Brave as well as Georgian immigrants, French and other European guests.
The guests of the event were also acquainted with traditional Georgian sports. Georgian martial arts masters Irakli Kokosadze, Zviad Vardukadze, Nana Gamkrelidze, Marita Biblaia, Aleksandre Beberashvili, Giorgi Latsabidze, Akaki Davitinidze, Giorgi Erkvania and Jemal Chitishvili held a demonstration for attendee as well.
The guests enjoyed the performance of the Ozurgeti State Theater play “Ciskar,” artists directed by Matskhonashvili. It should be noted that Levili’s Georgian manor hosted some Georgian and foreign guests for eight weeks and aroused great interest in Georgian culture and sports.
The festival is dedicated to Georgian culture and sports taking place in the Levili estate since the 20th century. This year for the first time May 26 was celebrated on a particularly grand scale in Levili Manor. It is also worth noting that the historical manor of Leville hosted for the first time the students of the master’s and bachelor’s levels of the sculpture department of the Academy of Arts.
The minister of culture and sports speaking on the occasion added that ” the festival is a clear example of the fact that the Ministry of Culture is successfully implementing the plan according to which our country will have a multi-profile cultural and educational center in the form of Levili in Europe and will continue the tradition which was laid by the leaders of the First Republic of Georgia.”
