Recently, a working meeting was held by the Government administration region of Guria. The meeting was aimed at discussing the natural disaster that happened in the month of September this year. The meeting also discussed the needs of the community that was affected by the natural disaster of September eight.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Department of the relation of the Government Administration region, namely Leri Barnabishvili, Gerogain Minister of health, labour, and social protection; Zurab Azarashvili, Otar Shamugia, the minister of the environmental and agriculture.
Others who were present during the meeting included the head of the national Environmental agency along with the State commissioner in Guria and mayors of Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti Municipality.
As per Lerry Barnabishvili, the officials of local and central governments are working closely with each other. He also added that with mutual cooperation, the officials of central and local agencies are providing every kind of assistance to the victims of the natural disaster.
These agencies are also cooperating with individual agencies and organisations to speed up the process of assistance.
Leri Barnabishvili stated that “representative of the local government and agencies have already iestablished communication with the affected families by the natural disaster of eight September”.” As you know, with the orders and decisions of the Prime Minister of Georgia, no citizen will be left without the government’s assistance. Moreover, we will help each and every family of the region and make an effort for their rehabilitation”.

It is opined by the environmentalist and scientific community that this problem of climate change will cause more damage in future if immediate measures are taken at the global level by all the countries.
The many parts of Georgia also affected by Climate change adduced natural disasters. The Environmental Ministry of Georgia also initiated many policies and schemes to contain the negative impact of climate change in the parts of Georgia that are more vulnerable to natural disasters.
