Tbilisi: The chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, invited all the citizens to come forward for the progress of the country. He said that the difference of opinion should not create any hindrance in the progressive journey of the country, the Republic of Georgia.
Nikoloz Samkharadze further said that on the national platform, political parties and civil society find great opportunities to exchange their ideas with each other.
He was addressing the joint conference of the Georgian National Platform of Parliament and the Civil Society Forum of Eastern Partnership.
He also reiterated that these kinds of conferences are very useful for the implementation of progressive ideas from people of different backgrounds.
Nikoloz Samkharadze underlined that “although there are a number if differences in our opinion with each other on everything at this conference, however, the constructive conversation that took place under the framework of this conference must be implemented in its letter and spirit. Moreover, this is an important platform which can bring unique change in the country”.
While speaking specifically on the grant of candidate status, Nikoloz Samkharadze said that this is a historic moment for the country and that opposition parties should support the Incumbent Government with a whole heart.
On speaking on the past track record of the opposition parties, he said that opposition parties were not cooperative in the past time. Now, as the whole population of the country is hopeful for full-fledged membership of the European Union, Opposition parties must think again to support the Government more constructively.
The cooperation of the opposition parties is very much required for the implementation of the nine-step programs that have been planned by the Government.
Similarly, attendees of the “Georgia’s Road to European Union” meeting also discussed the positive views and recommendations of the European Commission regarding the candidate status to Georgia.
During this conference member of civil society also gave their valuable suggestion. Most of the civil society members expressed hopes That soon Georgia would be able to get full-fledged Status in the European Union.
Meanwhile the, the representatives of the opposing parties also said that they are ready to cooperate with the Government on Important Issues of Public Relevance.
Similarly, the opposition seemed ready to support the effort of the Government, which are directed towards the integration of Georgia Into the European Union in Future.
