The Ajara Road Department of Georgia presented its activity report for the current year of 2023. Tornike Rizhvadze, chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara while giving the activity report congratulated the Employees of the Road Construction and Maintenance Department on the professional Day .
On this special occasion the head of the Adjara government spoke about important projects that have already been implemented across the different parts of the region. According to his statement, the Adjara Road Department will actively continue to develop road infrastructure and road construction-rehabilitation in the future to make the road infrastructure of the region more advanced and upgraded. He also gave great importance to the construction-rehabilitation of tourist roads in the region.
He specifically stated, “I congratulate everyone on the professional day who have become successful in this field. Thank you for your great work to make the region better.
It is to be specifically mentioned that In recent years a large number of projects of unprecedented importance and scale have been implemented in our country in terms of road infrastructure. Also, very important work has been done by the Adjara Road Department in terms of road infrastructure development, construction,and maintenance. Moreover, the budget for road infrastructure is increasing every year.
Tornike Rizhvadze also said, “ We must consistently continue to establish a new infrastructure to ensure that every settlement of region is provided with proper road infrastructure and connectivity. I am sure that with the joint efforts of all of us we will successfully implement all the planned projects.”
As per the statistics, In the year 2023 Adjara Road Department has spent a total amount of 62 106 672 GEL on local roads, rehabilitation, and maintenance. Moreover In 5 municipalities of Adjara, asphalt concrete pavement was arranged in 22 directions for 61.42 km of motorway road and concrete pavement of 75 km was also laid. At the same time, 159 artificial garbage constructions and arrangements are carried out in the locality.
The budget of the Adjara Road Department for 2024 is 63 983 516 GEL, and this will be utilised for more construction work.
