Tbilisi: Maya Omiadze was appointed as the head of the National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Until now, Maya Omiadze has served as the head of the Strategic Communications Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
At various times, she also headed the Public Relations Division of the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection, Marketing and Public Relations Department of Resorts Development Agency. At the same time, she is an invited lecturer at Caucasus University.
Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, presented Maya Omiadze to the employees of the National Tourism Administration today, who emphasized the experience and professionalism of the new head of the administration.
According to Maya Omiadze, it is a great honor for her to lead such a strategic agency as the National Tourism Administration.
Further, the new administrative head, stated that, “We have quite ambitious goals and plans, which I will gradually introduce both to the sector and to the society. Of course, first of all, it is about getting more income from tourism, creating even more tourist locations and creating new infrastructure.
At the same time, as you know, Georgia is the host of the two biggest events of the world scale next year – this is ITB Berlin and the World Championship in freestyle skiing and snowboarding to be held in Bakuriani.
We will do everything so that after these events, Georgia will become the host of many large and similar scale events in the coming years,” said Maya Omiadze.
