Tbilisi: As the bad weather condition have created many problems in Georgia rehabilitation works are also on full swing. Now employees of Georgian defence forces have also joined these relief work as well.
It is worth to note that, in the process of eliminating the problems created by the heavy snowfall in Western Georgia and providing assistance to the affected population, the Defence Forces units are working in six directions.
It is also to be noted that, since this morning, military personnel have been deployed with appropriate technical means to all critical facilities where the population needs assistance. More employees are also have been kept on standby mode to tackle any emergency like situations as well.
As per sources who are familiar with the groundwork, the army is involved in the disaster relief work with personnel and appropriate equipment. Moreover the representatives of the Defence Forces are in constant coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ rescue service to provide assistance to the population.
On the other hand, to review the ongoing work the vice Prime Minister, Minister of Defence Irakli Chikovani is in the Guria region. They have also interacted with workers who are clearing roads and doing many other works as well.
The government representative as well as the office bearers from different branch of Government are also reviewing the ongoing work as well. The Defence Forces were involved in the process of providing assistance to the population affected by the heavy snowfall in Western Georgia yesterday based on the order of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.
Similarly, by order of the Minister of Defence, units and special technical means of the Western and Eastern, Special Operations, Logistics Support of Troops, as well as Training and Military Education Commands have been allocated from the Défense Forces to support the response to the emergency situation.
The official expressed hopes that situation would be under control soon. They also added that in case of any emergency more employees from defence forces will be deployed.
