Georgia: The Georgian Defense Forces celebrated its 34th anniversary on April 30, 2025, Wednesday. The festive event was held in Vaziani, on the 4th Infantry Brigade’s assembly square.
The Ministry of Defense of Georgia shared the snippets of the event on its official Facebook page along with a short note on April 30, 2025. According to the details shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that before the event began, the President of Georgia, the Supreme Chief of Defense Forces Mikheil Kavelashvili along with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Vice Prime Minister, Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze decorated the heroes memorial in the territory of the Brigade with a crown.
The official part of the event began with bringing the Georgian state flag and the flag of the Defense Forces to the assembly square. Jubilee, in the background of the performance of the national anthem, continued with a celebratory dance. All components of defense forces arranged in boxes were arranged on the assembly square.
The ceremony of taking the military oath of the recruits was held. 150 recruits took military oaths in front of God and the nation. Starting today, they will be assigned to training and military education, logistics provision of the troops, aviation and air defense bases and serve in the National Military Service.
It is noteworthy that the President of Georgia, Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Commander of Defense Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili congratulated personal personnel.
Soldiers who were distinguished for their merit in strengthening the defense capability of the country, as well as for their success in combat training and for maintaining the high combat readiness of the troops, were awarded various excellent medals by the Ministry of Defense. During the event, the soldiers also pronounced the soldier’s funeral.

- the deputies and the wounded soldiers
After the official part of the event, the guests had the opportunity to view the defense force equipment and weapons on display at the assembly square.
