The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia congratulates the Georgian Farmers on Farmers’ Day on 20 November, 2024.
Otar Shamugia: “For more than ten years, the state has declared the promotion of Georgian agricultural development as a priority, which means that for more than ten years state programs supporting financial resources, farming equipment, modern education, access to international markets are being created and implemented; the improvement of the reduction infrastructure of Georgian agricultural machinery, modern education, the access to international markets;
He also mentioned,” The number of recycling and storage enterprises is increasing with the support of Rivi. For more than ten years, our farmers and entrepreneurs, with the support of the state, have been creating quality Georgian products in demand on local and international markets and strengthening our country’s economy.”
From 2015, on 20 November we are celebrating the farmer’s day every year. On this special day, we emphasize the respect for our farmers for their hard work, for their orientation on development and progress, and, most importantly, for creating outstanding Georgian products and taking them to international markets to showcase Georgia’s capabilities.

This year, events commemorating the Farmer’s Day will be held on November 30, at the exhibition center “ExpoGeorgia”. At noon, the agricultural market will be opened in the 6th pavilion, which will be observed by the Minister of Environment and Agriculture Otar Shamugia and guests.
The official part of the event will be held at 13:00 in the 3rd pavilion. Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia addresses the attending society. Director of the Rural Development Agency David Tsitlidze will present a report on the agency’s activities. At the end of the official event, the successful farmers of the year 2024 will be awarded. The winner of 9 nominations will be announced (Young Farmer of the Year, Female Farmer, Male Farmer, Discovery Farmer, Region Return Farmer of the Year, Innovative Farmer, Ecofarmer, Agrotourism-oriented Farmer and Best Agro-Agro-Cooperative).
In parallel with the celebration of “Farmer’s Day”, the “International Exhibition of Agriculture, Food Industry, Processing, and Packaging Technology” will be held at the Exhibition Center “ExpoGeorgia”. Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has been celebrating Farmer’s Day since 2015, with the Association of Georgian Farmers.
