Tbilisi: Maka Bochorishvili, newly elected foreign minister of Georgia has met with Ambassador of China to Georgia Zhou Qian. In this meeting both sides discussed multiple issues of bilateral relevance.
This meeting was held on Thursday, December 17, 2024. The important information has been shared on official social media handle of the foreign ministry of Georgia.
The official Facebook page of ministry stated, “The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili, met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.”
It further stated that, “The Chinese Ambassador congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs on her appointment and wished her success in this position. At the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.”
On this occasion the relations established because of the strategic partnership between Georgia and China were emphasized.
The conversation among parties also touched upon the potential for deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, trade and economy, tourism, cultural and humanitarian affairs and people-to-people relations.
Moreover, the parties also discussed ongoing processes and challenges in the wider region. The Ambassador once again confirmed China’s unwavering support for Georgia.
At the meeting, the parties expressed hope that the result-oriented cooperation between Georgia and China will continue effectively in the future.
Georgia and China both have strong, long bilateral diplomatic relations. The formal diplomatic relations were resumed in year 1992. Similarly, both countries also have their embassies in each other country.
China is second largest wine importer from Georgia. In addition, bilateral trade is also growing among both countries with each passing year.
The Georgian Minister have assured Chinese Ambassador that every kind of assistance will be offered to him for working in cordial environment.
They also expressed hopes that in future more efforts will be implemented to make bilateral relation more stable and stronger.
The talks have touched the issues of more trade relation to boost economic cooperation between both the countries as well.
