Georgia: The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jehun Bairamov.
They discussed crucial strategic partnership issues between Georgia and Azerbaijan and the current situation in the region.
They also underscored the importance of our joint efforts in implementing large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, reaffirming our commitment to these crucial initiatives.
Projects aimed at strengthening transit and logistics functions, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railway, Black Sea submarine power transmission cable, and Anaklia deepwater port, were emphasized as of paramount importance, underscoring their significant role in the region’s development.
Jehun Bairamov congratulated the PM Irakli Kobakhidze on reaching the eighth final of the European Championship of Georgia.
Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, also attended the meeting. He was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on April 4, 2022. Before that, in 2021, he held the Head of Government Administration post.
From 2017 to 2021, Ilia Darchiashvili served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Poland. During his tenure, he devoted himself to expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

As Ilia Darchiashvili noted, the discussion at the meeting of the two countries’ foreign ministers touched on the bilateral agenda of relations and ongoing processes in the region and the world.
According to the minister, the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan is not only remarkable but also gradually gaining new positive dimensions, which is a cause for optimism for the well-being of our countries and the region.
