Astana: The student of Ilia Vekua Physics and Mathematics Public School N42, Tbilisi visited to capital of Kazakhstan. They participated there in XXI International Zhautikov Olympiad on mathematics, physics and informatics.
This group of student’s participated in this international student event with help of Kutaisi International University. The event was held from January 13 to 18, 2025.
This international event is one of the most prestigious international Olympiads, which is held annually and is attended by excellent students from European and Asian countries.
This year again in this event 700 students from 15 countries participated in IZHO 2025, who are distinguished by their enhanced teaching of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
This year, the Vekua school team returned to their homeland with two important medals. Demetre Kokhreidze a 12th grade student won a bronze medal at the Mathematics Olympiad.
It is noteworthy that in the competition among team leaders, Lela Mamulashvili a teacher from Vekua School won the gold medal and at the same time, became the absolute winner of the Olympiad among teachers.
Kutaisi international university which is main supporter of this visit of vekua school students took to its different social media handles to share this important information. The official Facebook university also publish a picture of winning students waiving national flag of Georgia proudly.
The winners’ students who were part of this visit were received with warm welcome on their return. They expressed their gratitude to management of their school. At the same time, they thanked Kutaisi International University for supporting their visit for international event and gave them chance to show their hidden potential.
While receiving students their parents stated, this was a golden chance provided to their kids by school and university. They said this visit to foreign land and returning with award will certainly boost their confidence.
Notably school student while exfriend their happiness calls this as a wonderful opportunity. They expressed hopes such event will be supported regularly by school in future.
