Giorgi Tsagareishvili, the Minister of IDP (internally displaced persons), labour, health and social protection visited the capital city of Tbilisi. The Minister during his visit inspected the construction of a building for the IDP families to improve their living conditions.
Since his appointment as new deputy minister, Giorgi Tsagareishvili has been working round the clock for the welfare of the Georgian displaced people. He has taken ground-level initiatives in this direction, coordinating with the different agencies.
It is worth noting that as per the provisions related to the housing project, the new building will accommodate 2400 displaced families from the internally displaced regions until the end of next year, 2025.
The construction has been completed, and interior renovation work has begun in 3 buildings. The project will include recreational squares, children’s entertainment, and sports fields.
It should be added that the construction of new buildings for internally displaced families is also taking place simultaneously in five other cities of Georgia which includes Tbilisi, Borjomi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Zugdidi.
Moreover, the program will provide housing facilities across the city for 13,000 displaced families. Deputy Minister Giorgi Tsagareishvili was accompanied by other officials and representatives of the local and central governments during his visit.
The official and other representatives present with the Minister  included Zurab Utiashvili, the Director of the Agency for IDPs, Eco-Migrants  and Livelihood Sources  and Koba Kobaladze, the Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs.
It is worth mentioning that during his visit, Â Minister Giorgi Tsagareishvili revealed the ministry’s plans to improve the world-class housing facilities for needy families so that they can also live better life and obtain other housing facilities necessary to live a dignified life.
The minister assured that more efforts will be made in this direction in the future so that as many people as possible can be provided with housing facilities. On the other hand, the eligible people under the scheme have extended their gratitude towards the administration.
They said that this was necessary and urgent need of the hour. The Ministry should initiate more such initiatives in this direction. They also thanked the central Government for providing financial assistance for displaced persons.
