Khashuri, Georgia: Khashuri city and its surrounding villages in Georgia have been hit hard by difficult meteorological conditions, with heavy rainfall and strong wind causing widespread damage and disruption.
Roofs were damaged, electrical transmission lines were out of order, gas supply was delayed in some areas, and trees fell due to strong winds. High water flooded roads, residential yards and industrial plots; water has also reached residential houses in some places.
The situation started in the morning, and rescue operations are ongoing. Restoration of damaged power plants has begun, and the electricity supply to the population will be restored gradually. Works are underway to restore the gas supply, essential for heating and cooking in the cold weather. Until now, the removal of fallen trees, which have blocked roads and damaged properties, is underway.
Technology is mobilized, and work is underway to eliminate problems caused by floods. All possible measures are being taken to prevent further complications, such as landslides, waterborne diseases, and food shortages.
In addition to municipal services, representatives of Energopro Georgia, Sokar Georgia Gas, and Shida Kartli Emergency Management Service uniquely contribute to the work progress.
