Justice Ministry Delegation participates in UN Public Services World Forum

Georgia: The annual World Forum of Public Services, organized by the United Nations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Korea, was opened in Incheon, Republic of Korea, on June 24, 2024. The Georgian delegation participated under the leadership of First Deputy Minister of Justice Tamar Tkeshelashvili.

One thousand two hundred representatives from 50 countries attended the UN Public Services Forum this year. The Forum on Economic and Social Affairs was opened by UN Deputy Secretary-General Lee Jung-hua, Eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-you and Lee Sang-min, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of South Korea. The forum is attended by high-level representatives of governments of UN member countries, experts, and representatives of international organizations.

The annual UN forum is an excellent opportunity for countries to discuss news, challenges, achievements, and prospects in public service delivery. Georgian representatives will participate in thematic sessions, while the first deputy minister of justice, Tamar Tkeshelashvili, will speak at the round-table meeting of ministers.

At the event, from the Georgian side, as well as, Georgian Plenipotentiary and Emergency Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Tarash Papaskua, Chairman of the National Agency of Public Register, David Devidze, Chairman of the State Services Development Agency, Ketevan Betlemidze, Chairman of SP “House of Justice” Lasha Lobjanidze and International Relations of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia To the Directorate of International Relations of the Department of Legal Cooperation Elder Mariam Bregadze.

It is worth noting that in 2026, the UN public Services World Forum will be hosted by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, which is another international recognition of our country’s achievements in the field of public services development. The Georgian Minister of Justice discussed this initiative at the meeting held with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations during his visit to the United States last year.
