Tbilisi: International human rights experts and organizations in the field have conducted several meetings in Georgia. They also discussed other measures that can be implemented to reduce human trafficking across the Caucasus region.
On this occasion the experts agreed that strengthening the law enforcement agencies and labour inspectors in the fight against human trafficking is the need of the hour. Notably this is an organized crime which is used to commit to exploiting the people. To reduce the rate of such crime incidents the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has already initiated training sessions. The main attendees of these sessions are law officials, social workers, and labor inspectors.
The training aims to provide general information on how to adopt a victim-centered approach to trafficking and implement it in practice. Colin Carswell who was a guest trainer in one of the seminars added “ This is the very first time that a large number of people from diverse backgrounds have joined the training sessions.
It is worth noting that the main key speakers of the occasion said that we need a professional approach to the early detection of hidden exploits. IOM officials hope that this session will be very helpful for all the attendees. Labor Inspection Service has played a crucial role in their fight against labor exploitation. In August again the IOM Georgia carried out two-day training to identify the victims of labor exploitation.
It is also to be added that the experts in the human trafficking field said that they have already provided training on the psycho-social aspects of dealing with potential victims. This will help to restart the fresh life by overcoming the past traumas. IOM official said that they will continue their efforts in this direction. The main aim of the sessions is to create a human trafficking-free world safe for all and everyone as well.
