Tbilisi: The emergency situations management service of the ministry of Internal affairs has purchased 567 new firefighting gas masks. The new equipment is latest and fulfil criteria as per European standards.
The Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, Temur Mghebrishvili, together with other senior officials of the service, personally inspected the new firefighting special equipment. He visited to inspects these new equipment’s at the base of the Main Emergency Response Department and got acquainted with the technical characteristics on site.
As per the opinion of experts the new, modern gas masks are effective and convenient in the firefighting process, as they have a wide panoramic face mask and a lightweight air breathing apparatus.
The Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs actively continues to update special equipment. The emergency service of the Ministry of Internal affairs has played active role many times to fight climate change and other situations.
It is worth to note that many present-day global challenges such as climate change, global warming and different kind of pollution have been posing multiple challenges for environment protections.
On the other hand, the collective efforts are being carried out by many international agencies. The Georgia has also faced many climates related crisis in recent fire such as heavy unseasoned rains, cloudburst, heatwaves, droughts, floods.
The people living in some geographical sensitive areas have also faced many problems. They also suffer huge financial loss, loss of human lives etc as well. The official of fire management services was also preset on this occasion as well.
The officials of department hopes that the new addition of equipment in department will enhance the capability of department. They also said that this will help the department employees of handles emergency like situation more efficiently.
On the other the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, Temur Mghebrishvili while speaking about the new procurement said this will strength the work force of department. He said steps will be taken in this direction in future as well.
