Tbilisi: Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science and Youth have issued a statement against the psychological bullying of school children’s. Minister also condemned this same attitude against the teachers as well as entire school community of country on social media platforms.
The statement underlined that, “We condemn the campaign of psychological bullying against schoolchildren, teachers and the entire school community, which has been taking place in recent days through social networks and some media outlets. We find this practice and related incidents currently taking place in educational institutions unacceptable.”
In addition, statement highlighted today, it is especially important that the educational process in schools proceeds smoothly in order to ensure access to education for students and protect the safety, rights and interests of each child.
All students are equally important to us. Any deliberate attempts by specific individuals to disrupt the educational process are unacceptable.
The statement further added that, “We would like to inform the public that specific individuals are putting pressure on schools. Moreover, they are invading the territory of educational institutions and calling on the management, teachers and students to go on strike, inciting discord among young people. Such actions violate the constitutional right of minors to receive general education and create the ground for a violent environment.”
The official of ministry also said, the fundamental principle of protecting the rights of the child is to take into account his or her best interests’ is duty of every government. This principle obliges all persons to protect the well-being, safety, health, educational, developmental, social, moral and other interests of the child.
It is our obligation to ensure that children receive education in a safe, discrimination-free environment, where they are not subjected to any form of psychological pressure.
Statement concluded with words, In order to effectively protect the rights of each child and take into account their best interests, we call on everyone not to violate the rights of students, do not interfere with the functioning of schools and the normal conduct of the educational process.
