Georgia’s national food agency has been inspecting resorts across the Black Sea region. The agency revealed this development today in a statement.
As per the National food Agency of Georgia they are executing a well-planned and systematic inspection drive against the the general and public catering facilities which are located around the region of the black sea. The drive is aimed to secure the health of the citizens.
On the other hand the aim of the drive is also to ensure that no illegal or unhygienic practices are being done in the locality. The safety and high quality of products through these drives will further “safeguard the health and rights” of locals and tourists. Georgia is the main tourist destination for tourists who visit here every year across the globe to explore the natural beauty of the Caucasus region.
To conduct the successful drive the inspectors of the concerned deepartmet have been visting personally to cafes, restaurants, hotel food facilities, bakeries and fast food establishments. The main areas of the region that are being focused during these drives include the Ureki, Shekvetili, Batumi, Kobuleti, Gonio, Kvariati, Sarpi, and mountainous parts of the western Adjara region.
The National food agency of the country also revealed that almost one hundred fifty business houses were inspected during the drives. The main facts that were checked in drives were whether they were following the parameters in the context of food expiration dates, labelling, storage conditions, and adherence to sanitary and hygienic norms so that they don’t damage the health of consumers.
The inspection drive identified ten outlets with “Critical non-conformities. These facilities have been fined, whereas some have been asked to stop production for a temporary period. According to the agency its members coordinate with all stakeholders to apprise them of the rules and regulations regarding food safety. Moreover the agency is also expanding its legal provisions in case of any violation by the owners of these food houses.
