“Technological development has simplified the counterfeiting of the original, the so-called practical possibility of mass production of pirated copies. This circumstance presents a special challenge in terms of protecting and enforcing the legal interests of intellectual property rights holders. It hinders the expansion of production of local entrepreneurs and the professional development of artists and authors, endangers our full integration into the European and global creative space, as well as harms our country’s reputation in terms of trade. A thematic rapporteur on intellectual property rights has been appointed in the Parliament of Georgia, and we will further strengthen our efforts to support the state policy on intellectual property.”- said Tamar Taliashvili.

Official representatives of European and US international organizations and representatives of the local private sector were among the participants of the conference, who spoke about the difficulties and challenges facing them.
