Basseterre: The twin-island nation, St Kitts and Nevis, consisting of the world’s most beautiful attractions and incredible feats of nature, is emerging as a fascinating destination that one must dwell in the Caribbean region. As the month of July has come, the country has come with a rather great reason to travel to this beautiful country as the island of Nevis is celebrating the “Mango Festival.”

Mango is one of the most loved fruits in Nevis and is also known as the “Mango Capital in the Caribbean.” Every year, the Mango Festival in Nevis is celebrated for an entire week, with several major events taking place from July 1 to July 3, 2022, onwards.

On July 1, starting at 1 pm, the Mango Festival for this year will be officially launched at Cades Bay Fruit Orchard. On July 2, Nevis will witness an easy-breezy mango Saturday starting at noon. On the last day (July 3), the people of St Kitts and Nevis will enjoy the love of mangoes at Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, which will include a Food Demonstration, Chef’s Cooking Competition (St Kitts and Nevis), Mango Wellness Zone, and Mango 101 Zone.

The festival will also captivate the audience with competitions, including a mango-eating and a cocktail competition. Additionally, there would be a culinary challenge, which will bring the island’s top chefs to prepare mango-focus menus. It will be absolutely all about the mango.

Devon Liburd, the Nevis Tourism Authority’s interim CEO, proudly stated, “Mangoes are an integral part of the Nevisian cuisine as many different species are grown here. Each variety is known for its unique look, taste and texture. Every Nevisian believes the Mango Festival is the perfect way to experience a Caribbean vacation with a distinctively Nevisian flavour.”

The love for this fruit might be proved by every Nevisian who has at least a mango tree in their backyard. Every summer, Nevis literally witnesses the rain of mangoes, and there are over forty-four different kinds available in Nevis, with Amory Polly, Julie and Long being the most popular among locals as well as travellers.

Since the downfall of the sugar mills in the late 1930s, the small island country has relied on tourism for financial assistance. The Federation is also known as one of the best nations which provides economic citizenship. It offers the world’s best Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme, as per the CBI Index published by the Financial Times’ PWM magazine. St Kitts and Nevis has been ranked first for “Citizenship Timeline”, “Due Diligence”, and “Family” in the Index.

The smallest country in the Western Hemisphere launched the economic citizenship programme in 1984 and is a pioneer of the industry. The CBI Programme provides alternative citizenship to investors, across the globe, in exchange for the financial contribution to the economy of the country.

The CBI Programme of St Kitts and Nevis has been providing alternative citizenship for more than three decades and has been regarded as the longest-running in the world. The programme guarantees platinum standards with increased mobility, sustainable investment opportunities and greater economic freedom for successful applicants.

Some of the key benefits offered by the Programme of St Kitts and Nevis are as follows:

  • Open routes to a global market
  • Opportunity to become a global citizen
  • Enables to add additional dependents under one application
  • Offers numerous business opportunities
  • Diversify your portfolio
  • An efficient platform for wealth planning

The CBI Programme has been praised for its stringent as well as vigorous due-diligence background checks, which are carried out by third-party firms. The agencies conduct multi-layered background checks; analysing applications, documents, character, source of income and many others. The government of St Kitts and Nevis has hired one of the world’s best independent firms. The background checks help maintain the integrity of the programme and also ensure national and international security.
