New Year Celebration in Keda Municipality

Keda, Georgia: Keda Municipality invites everyone to join the festive celebration of the New Year on January 5, 2024. The event, organized by the Government Administration, will occur at Rustaveli St. N12, the area around the central stadium of Keda.

The celebration will start at 14:00 with a Christmas market, where visitors can buy local products and handicrafts. Children can also enjoy learning how to prepare Christmas toys at the Children’s Space.

At the same time, an orchestra march by the “Drum School” will entertain the audience with lively music. A festive procession of fairy tale heroes will also roam the streets, spreading joy and happiness.

From 15:00 to 17:00, children will have a chance to meet Santa Claus and receive his presents. The orchestra march will continue until 16:30, followed by a children’s concert featuring local performers.

The highlight of the evening will be a live concert by Zuka Khutsishvili and band, Nato Gelashvili, Luka and Giorgi Chokhonelidze, Mirza Modebadze, Irina Bairamashvili, and Tika Jamburia. The concert will start at 17:00 and last until 19:00 when a ceremonial fireworks show will mark the end of the celebration.

The event is free and open to everyone who wants to celebrate the New Year in a Georgian way. Keda Municipality is a beautiful Ajara Autonomous Republic region known for its wine production, culinary tours, and rafting opportunities. 

The New Year celebration is an excellent opportunity to experience the culture and traditions of this region, as well as to enjoy the festive atmosphere and have fun with family and friends.

Keda Municipality

Keda is an urban-type settlement in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in southwestern Georgia. It is located 42 kilometres east of the regional capital Batumi. 

The town has 1,285 residents (2021) and is the administrative centre of the Keda Municipality. The city has administrative, educational and health facilities, small businesses, and a local history museum. Keda was a trading post in the 19th century. It was given the status of daba in 1966.
