The Georgian defence forces have got a new vehicle. This vehicle also includes German-made vehicles to strengthen the capability of the defence forces of Georgia.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Georgian Defense Forces have added new special-purpose vehicles and equipment at a recently held induction ceremony. As per the information the agency has bought special-purpose equipment which also includes the German MAN cars, with a grant from the German federal government.
It is worth mentioning that In Vaziani, the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Ernst Peter Fischer, inspected the new equipment exhibited on the Defense Forces Fourth Infantry Brigade’s field.
On the occasion the Georgian defence minister Juansher Burchuladze spoke with Germany about the importance of cooperation with Georgia as a distinguished and important international partner and emphasised close, growing cooperation in the field of defence.
Speaking further on the occasion, the Georgian minister thanked the German side for its practical and financial support for its contribution to the development of Georgian defence forces. The special equipment transfer ceremony was attended by the head of the Defense Forces of Georgia, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, representatives of the Defense Forces and German Defense Attache, Vice Colonel Andreas Zebaldi.
Notably Within the framework of the “Enable and Enhance Initiative” of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German side has been providing financial assistance to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia since 2019, which helps to strengthen the defence capabilities of Georgia.
The Georgian defence minister also said that “our country wants friendly relations with all the countries across the globe. At the same time, we want to build a strong defence system for the safeguarding our interest”.
He said that in the future, the relationship between both countries will grow further. He also said that we will remain indebited to Germany for their support to our defence sector.
On the other hand, the German side congratulated Georgia on its candidate status and said that they wished the best of luck to Georgia for full-fledged membership in the European Union.
