Tea Tsulukiani visits Rustavi Music School
Tea Tsulukiani the Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia visted the Rustavi Music School. She got acquainted with the specifications and infrastructure of the school. She was accompanied by the famous Georgian musician and pianist Giorgi Vachnadze and his wife pianist Kiomi Sugimura.
During her visit to school the minister inspected the concert hall of the school and the auditorium. She also met with the director of the school Nino Nachkebia. She held a meeting was held with music school teachers also durig her visit here.
Minster during her visit also focused on closer cooperation of music schools with Tbilisi state conservatory. According to the Minster within a month there will be a summary working meeting at the Tbilisi Conservatory where representatives of music schools in the ministry will discuss their needs and other important issues.
During the meeting Tea Tsulukiani thanked the school teachers for their enthusiasm and dedicated work. She also appreciated their dedication for promoting Georgian music and cultural heritage.
Notably the Rustavi Music School was established in 2009 as a result of changes in the artistic education system. It has trained many musicians for over half a century. Graduates of this school have always been successful in Georgia and outside which is a reflection of the high qualifications of teachers.
It is to be added that the school implements an 11-year teaching program as well for (Primary – I-IV classes, Basic – VII-IX classes, Special – X-XI classes) on piano, orchestral stringed cymbals (violin, and cello) and for other musical instruments.
Since the 1990s the school has been organizing two large-scale events the Classical Music Fresh Performers Competition and Team Music Festival which are traditionally held in Tbilisi city.
It should be noted that under the framework of the competition announced by the Ministry in the year 2023 Rustavi Music School was provided 35000 GEL financial assistance and by spending this amount many musical instruments were brought for the trainees of the music school.
In 2021 within the framework of the same competition the Ministry of Culture purchased instruments worth 30300 GEL for the Rustavi Music School.
