Georgia: Joint event held on cyber-learning

To discuss the various aspects of cyberspace a Joint cyber-learning course by the Georgian Ministry of Defense's Cyber Security Bureau and the British Army under the theme of Defense Cyber Marvel 2024 was completed.

To discuss the various aspects of cyberspace a Joint cyber-learning course by the Georgian Ministry of Defense’s Cyber Security Bureau and the British Army under the theme of Defense Cyber Marvel 2024 was completed.

It is to be specifically mentioned that at the concluding event, the participants of the course were addressed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia David Sujashvili, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Georgia Mark Clayton. They focused on the importance of sharing international experience in cybersecurity and developing cyberdefense capabilities.

It is to be added that with the advancement of technology the issue of cyber-security also got a wide significance as well. The defense sector of countries is incorporating different methods for safeguarding the cyberspace of their respective countries as well.

This cyber-security-specific training was focused on developing various skills of those who are directly or indirectly associated with cyber technology-related issues. They have been trained on cyber defense skills and sharing of cyber security experiences. There was also a simulation scenario session of the curriculum held which included topics of the cyber attacks on critical infrastructure and information systems.

On the other hand the Georgian and British cyber specialists participated in the training. This was a week-long training program. This one-week training was held in the School of Defense Institutional Rebuilding (DIBS).

Similarly the cyber specialists of the Ministry of Defense are participating in the training held within the framework of defense cooperation between Georgia and Great Britain for the second time.

The training aims to develop cyber defense capabilities and build a resilient cyber security system in the field of defense as well as for compatibility with NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation)and EU (European Union)standards.

It was agreed between the parties that in the future more such joint training programs will be held regularly to apprise the trainees on latest cyber development.

The Georgian representative on the occasion extended their gratitude for the cooperation to Georgian agencies in the field of cyber security and other areas of defecne security as well.
