Tbilisi: Akaki Tsereteli Avenue rehabilitation in last stage

Akaki Tsereteli Avenue rehabilitation, which was under progress for a long time has finally reaced the last stage. The mayor of the city Kakha Kaladzre visited the site and got acquainted with the work's results. He was accompanied by the deputy mayor Irakli Bendeliani.

Akaki Tsereteli Avenue rehabilitation, which was under progress for a long time has finally reaced the last stage. The mayor of the city Kakha Kaladzre visited the site and got acquainted with the work’s results. He was accompanied by the deputy mayor Irakli Bendeliani.

On the occasion of the inspection work of Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated “Rehabilitation works of Tsereteli Avenue have been completed with the full cooperation of the local administration. We told the public that the remaining works would be completed by the end of March and finallyv the day has come, and I am very glad that the mentioned avenue has been completely repaired within the time limit as well”.

“After the completion of the rehabilitation work the underground communications were replaced, new light poles were installed, and underground waste bins were placed. Spring landscaping is underway, and work will be completed very soon, making the avenue even more beautiful. I am glad that as a person living in this city, another orderly, rehabilitated avenue has been added to our mother city” added Mayor.

The other work of the rehabilitation and beautification carried out on Tsereteli Avenue included the renewal of underground communications, underground placement of overhead wires, arrangement of sidewalks, safety islands, outdoor lighting network and asphalt pavement, installation of LED lanterns, arrangement of waiting rooms and public transport lanes, placement of underground bins. The landscaping works will be completed in a few days.

The other official and city hall representatives who were present on the spot included Giorgi Abutidze, head of Tbilisi City Hall’s infrastructure development department, Davit Pachulia, director of Tbilisi Service Group, Vladimer Dzneladze, governor of Didubi district, Paata Togonidze, acting head of city environmental protection service, Givi Chkhartishvili, deputy of Tbilisi City Council.

The Mayor also said that more initiatives will be taken to make the city beautiful so that everyone can like it. He said that the municipal administration wants to make the city a favorite destination for tourists as well.
