Kutaisi: Twele floor building for displaced families under construction

In Kutaisi city Georgia, a new twelve-floor building is being constructed for the accommodation of displaced families. in which 720 displaced families will be accommodated.

In Kutaisi city Georgia, a new twelve-floor building is being constructed for the accommodation of displaced families. This building is being constructed on Nikea Street for 720 displaced families. There will be a total three buildings having twelve floors each.

Recently Mikheil Sarjveladze the Georgian minister of Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Security visited the site and inspected the construction works of the residential complex.

Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze on this occasion underlined that resettling and proper rehabilitation of the refugees along with their families is a priority of the state. Moreover to create decent living conditions for displaced families, large-scale construction works are underway in several cities of the country.

“As soon as the construction work is completed the displaced families will be given fully renovated apartments. The construction work going in full swing with full compliance with standards of construction” Minister added.

It is to be specifically mentioned that within the framework of the project, the Georgian Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Security will hand over housing space to a total of 13,000 displaced families. It is also noteworthy that more than 7,000 families will get renovated apartments in newly built buildings, and about 6,000 families will be moved into new residential areas under the “Rural Homes” program.

The total budget of both programs in total is about 900 million GEL. On the construction site heavy earth moving and loading machines are being used to finish the work shortly. The construction company has also deployed the tower cranes for construction purposes on heights.

The Minister and members of his visiting delegation during this visit held a meeting with the officials of the construction company. He also instructed the company official to expedite the construction work so that the houses could be delivered to needy families as soon as possible.

The structure of all three buildings has been already erected, however, the remaining work to give a finishing touch is at the final stage told construction company officials.
