Ambrolauri: International Nurses Day celebrated by city hall representative

The International Nurses Day  which falls on May 12 every year celebrated in the Ambrolauri Municipality several nurses were honoured and given symbolic gifts.

The International Nurses Day  which falls on May 12 every year celebrated in the Ambrolauri Municipality. On this special occasion, the  Deputy Mayor of Ambrolauri Municipality Tamar Kevanashvili, and the Head of the Social and Healthcare Service of the City Hall Marika Dval personally congratulated several nurses and gave symbolic gifts.



It is to be specifically mentioned that some of the ladies like Zoya Vachadze, Nanuli Kvatadze, and Olia Namgaladze, have been working as nurses in Ambrolauri Municipality long time. They have served for more than 60 years and have devotedly served a profession that requires a lot of hard work, effort, and responsibility.

The well-trained and qualified nurses are one of the most demanded professionals across the world.  Notably International Nursing Day is also celebrated with the organization of many events.  The day is dedicated to the memory of Nightingale Florence. She is regarded as the founder of modern-day practices of nursing.  The Nightingale was a social worker, who gained popularity during the Crimean War.

She is also called the lady with the lamp. She has revolutionised the Nursing profession and people began to recognize the role of nurses in the health sector along with doctors.  It is also worth mentioning that the day was selected by the International Council of Nurses.

The event is held across the many countries of the world. Dedicated discussions are also held to discuss the challenges being faced by nursing professionals and how to address them immediately as well. The old nurses were also presented with a bouquet. The city hall representatives also extended their best wishes to these nursing veterans.

Ambrolauri Municipality City Hall congratulates all active and former nurses on the professional day and thanks them for their work.  On the other hand, social media users also extended their best wishes to all. One Facebook user Eka Murusidze commented “Congratulations to exceptionally lovely and professional ladies!!! We wish you a long and healthy life” Similarly many users also extended their best wishes to the nurses.
