Zviad Shalamberidze State Commissioner of Imereti region recently received the delegation from China. The Representatives of the government of Guizhou province of China are on a two days official visit to the Imereti.
It should be noted that the delegation visited the Imereti region under the framework of a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation. During this meeting parties discussed implementing joint projects and close cooperation in the economy, trade, education, culture, tourism, and other important fields.
Speaking specifically on the occasion, Zviad Shalamberidze noted at the meeting that this is the most important decision which will make traveling to China easier for Georgian citizens and will create new opportunities both from the economic cultural, and political points of view.
He also said that today’s meeting strongly confirms the implementation of joint projects and the transition to a new stage of close cooperation in economy, trade, education, culture, tourism, and other important fields within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum signed between the Imereti region and Guizhou province is believed to bring concrete results and benefits to both sides.
“We have made a presentation about the region where there is detailed information on the investment environment of all 12 municipalities. We are ready for cooperation and implementation of joint projects as well” – Zviad Shalamberidze.
It should be specifically mentioned that the Georgian side emphasized another decision and China has started transporting cargo to Europe via Georgia, which is very important in deepening trade and economic ties between both countries.
The important meeting was attended by the deputies of the state representative of Imereti, Levan Sanikidze, along with Besik Gofodze and Levan Kiknavelidze, the mayor of Kutaisi, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, the mayor of Tskaltubo, Gennadi Balanchivadze, the leaders of Sakrebulo, and representatives of the business sector. The Chinese delegation is on an official visit to Imereti for two days.
