Georgia: The First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Nino Tandilashvili and Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze met with the Head of the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Raymond Jelle during their official visit to Hungary.
At the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing projects and future cooperation issues, including development of climate-smart agriculture, increasing food production and overcoming poverty in rural areas, as well as supporting land consolidation.
The First Deputy Minister Nino Tandilashvili spoke about the importance of the long-term partnership between FAO and the Ministry and thanked the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for its close cooperation over the years.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze noted at the meeting that a number of projects for promoting the development of agriculture and rural development are being implemented in Georgia with the support of FAO.
According to Raymond Jelle, Georgia is an important partner for FAO in the region, which continues to actively support the development of the agricultural sector, food safety and food system transformation in Georgia.
