Georgia: Three-time Olympic medal-winning shooter Nino Salukvadze became a two-time Guinness World Record holder for competing in the most successive Olympic Games and for being the female athlete with the most Olympic appearances.
The Legendary Olympian Nino Salukvadze was awarded Guinness certificates and medals on February 3, 2025, Monday.
The Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) shared the glimpses of the award ceremony of Olympian Nino Salukvadze on its official Facebook page on February 3, 2025. The Olympic Committe also shared some information regarding the event.
According to the information shared by the GNOC, it is noted that the Georgian athlete received two Guinness certificates for a record number of participations in the Olympic Games. The process of registering the record was carried out by the Federation of Records of Georgia.
It should be noted that the award ceremony was held at the Georgian Olympic Museum. At the ceremony, the president of the Georgian Records Federation, David Begiashvili, presented Nino Salukvadze with the Guinness certificates and a medal.
The president of the National Olympic Committee of Georgia, Leri Khabelov, and the Minister of Sports of Georgia, Shalva Gogoladze, addressed the audience with welcoming speeches and congratulated Nino Salukvadze on this significant achievement.
The event was attended by the Ministry of Sports, SEOK, Physical Education and Sports State University, Shooting Federation, athletes, Nino Salukvadze’s family, media representatives, and other guests.
With her participation in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, Salukvadze earned recognition after becoming the first female competitor in the history of Olympics to qualify for 10 consecutive editions of the Games since 1988, with the athlete also earning medals in three events at different times. She also became the first Georgian Olympian to earn the title.
It should be noted that the Guinness World Records Organization awarded her the record-breaking title in two categories simultaneously:
- The athlete who has competed in the most consecutive Olympic Games
- The female athlete who has participated in the most Olympic Games.
