Bidzina Ivanishvili, the current honorary chair of the ruling Georgian Dream, once again attacked opposition parties. He slammed opposition parties for damaging the interest of the country under foreign influence.

He also criticised the role of some non-government organisations and media houses for playing a negative role against national interests. His strong comments came at an election rally in Telavi.

He warned voters that if opposition forces succeed in forming a new government there could be another conflict like the one in 2008. According to him the previous rule of UNM (United National Movement) caused the country a huge loss with its faulty policies. UNM was directly responsible for the 2008 devastation.

He spoke about GD’e stand that if the party comes to power  legal action will be taken against UNM leadership. The person responsible for torture, murder, business racketeering and widespread corruption will be brought to justice as well.

He further asserted that the Georgian Dream’s campaign is not just about winning, but about propelling the country forward on all fronts. The Georgian Dream is fighting for a united homeland and is committed to making every possible effort for the early integration of Georgia into the European Union, a future full of promise and opportunity.

However for EU integration we need peace which can be brought only by a strong and stable government. The honorary chair also requested voters to ensure the success of GD by supporting it in the October 26 elections.

While defending the party’s decision to implement the foreign agent’s law he specifically added “The law has been implemented just to ensure the transparency in the workings of non-government organisations as well as other organisations which receive foreign funding. There are many such suspicious groups who have initiated anti-Georgian propaganda with foreign funding.”

Notably the Prime Minister also heavily criticised the opposition for opposing the foreign agent’s law. He called the election an important decision people must make.As per PM voters must choose whether they want war or peace. They have to make decisions about the country’s overall progress or the misrule of opposition party coalitions.
