Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, congratulated Narendra Modi for reelection as Prime Minister of the Republic of India. The PM expressed hopes that the relationship between both countries will reach a new height under Prime Minister Narendra.
It is to be specifically mentioned that Modi has been re-elected for the third term in a row. The results of the long polling process were declared on Thursday, June 4.
The Prime Minister of Georgia took to her social media handle and stated, “On behalf of the Georgian government and myself, sincere congratulations to @narendramodi, who has been re-elected as Prime Minister of India. Relations between Georgia and India have deepened in recent years, paving the way for exploring new avenues of cooperation. I wish the Prime Minister all the success in his important endeavors and look forward to working together on issues of mutual interest.”
The Indian Prime Minister has been re-elected with a huge majority from the Varanasi city of Uttar Pardesh (one of the largest states of India). Notably Modi has contested this seat for the third time in a row. Before his tenure as the Prime Minister of India, Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujrat. However, his tenure as the Gujrat CM was controversial, as riots took place in Gujrat when he was the chief minister.
Narendra Modi is the leader of the BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party). The BJP and other parties formed the NDA( national democratic alliance) to take over the opposition coalition in India. It is to be added that the relations between both countries are very cordial. Bilateral trade also has the biggest share. In March, PM Modi of India also congratulated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli on his appointment as Prime Minister of Georgia when he took the oath after the resignation of the former prime minister. PM Ikarkli also expressed hope that both countries will make joint efforts to strengthen their bilateral relations.
