Tbilisi: Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia has extended best wishes to orthodox people. The followers of orthodox church are celebrating the Christmas as per their own old customs and traditions.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has taken to his social media handles to share his best wishes for community. He also shared glimpses of event on his official Facebook page.
The official Facebook post stated, “Today is very historic day for all of us. This day has special importance for our brother and sister from orthodox church. I would like to extend by best wishes to community as well.”
The Georgian Prime Minister in his message also added that, this day teach us to have cordial relation with each other so that we can create a society where humanity is respected.
Prime Minister office today also released a specific message in this regard.He said everybody of Georgia should join this day of celebration. The PM message also shed light on the fact that this special day is not just simple holiday rather a day which is full of devotion, love, feeling and respect for each other.
The office of Prime Minister of Georgia while citing PM’s message highlighted that we should be proud of our rich values and culture as such historical days comes to us with message of kindness and forgiveness to other.
Notably a service on this special occasion was attended by many high representatives of the Government. The government officials who attended this event includes, The President Mikheil Kezerashvili, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
The many higher officials of executive and legislative authorities attended a service led by the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia. The social media users reacted to the message of Prime Minister and extended their best wishes also.
The community leaders on other hand expressed his gratitude for their gratitude for Prime Minister for best wishes. They also congratulated Georgian people on this holy occasion.
