The prosecutor’s office of Georgia has charged the two persons. The both  have been accused of causing severe damage to the health of the victims in the village of Aten  which resulted in  the death of the victim.
As per the information shared by the Prosecutor’s office  the incident occurred in village Aten  which falls under the  Gori municipality. The investigation in this regard was conducted by the special investigation services official.
The investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Service established that on July 29 in the village of Aten  as per the actions of the inspectors of the Department of Special Tasks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs  the victim sustained a serious injury. The victim  due to serious injuries, died on August 11.
After the detailed investigation of the special investigation services  the prosecutor’s office presented both of them with detailed charges under the fourth part of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The imposed section of the code of criminal procedure covers the offense relating to intentionally causing severe and life-threatening health damage. The law regarding offenses that cause serious injury is very strict. As per the legal provision  if an accused is found guilty of the abovementioned crime  they can be sent to jail for a term that may vary between ten and fourteen years.
At the first stage of the investigation one accused was charged under Article 117  Part 1 of the Criminal Code (deliberate serious injury to health)  and another was charged under Article 376  Part 1. However  both were charged under another Section (failure to report a serious offense) and remanded in custody as a preventive measure.
The charges under subsection “l” of the third part of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentionally serious, life-threatening injury to health) have been clarified to the accused. Meanwhile  the special investigations service announced that they will continue their investigation  which will bring to light many other new facts and will help the court pronounce the sentences.
