Tbilisi: The Georgian prosecutor office has charged six persons for criminal activities. These six people are linked with a network of the criminal gangs.
The representatives of prosecutor office while sharing further details on this significant development stated, “we are taking strict action all those who are involved in any anti-social activities. Moreover, we are coordinating with other law enforcement and intelligence agencies to prevent happening of criminal activities”.
The informant is also shared on social media handles by official’s prosecutor office. The official Facebook page of office stated that, “The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged 6 individuals with membership in a “criminal underworld”, support for the activities of a “criminal underworld” and for attempt to connect to a member of a “criminal underworld”.
It is also worth to note on receiving the preliminary activities an investigation was ordered in this direction and later a detail investigation was conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The in-depth investigation conducted by the ministry of internal affairs established that the defendants carried out the activities of a “criminal underworld” through threats, coercion, “criminal underworld” and the use of their criminal influence, to obtain material benefit. Moreover, they have collected huge amount from the illegal activities in Georgia as well as many other parts of world also.
An investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs also established that to resolve a financial dispute through “criminal underworld”, the disputing party appealed to members of the “criminal underworld”, who demanded payment from the other party involved in the financial dispute.
Law enforcement officers detained 5 defendants on February 11, and one person was charged in a penitentiary institution. The official reiterated that there is zero-tolerance policy against any kind of illegal activities.
On the other hand, social media users also appreciated the action taken by office against the criminal elements as well. As per the netizens such strict action against anti-social elements was need to hour and will prevent criminal activities in future also.
