Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Georgia met the participants of the Shaori youth camp. A large number of young people across the country attended this campus held in the Racha region of the country.
The PM was accompanied by Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili during his visit to the youth camp. The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, and the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Giorgi Amilakhvari, were also present. Irakli Kobakhidze also spoke to the participants at the camp. The PM apprised them about a number of projects aimed at developing the education system and youth policy in the country.
The Prime Minister further added “The development of the education system is one of the main priorities and we have serious plans in this direction. We will pay special attention to university education including infrastructure improvement.”
“Moreover sports infrastructure will be developed significantly and this will be one of the main priorities the government will work on in the future. It is very important to involve young people in developing projects that concern young people,we will have specific initiatives in this regard as well added PM.”
The PM also stated, “We had one such excellent precedent when paid internships were developed for graduates. We held meetings with young people and heard their opinions on how this program should be structured allowing us to refine it. This year for the first time such a large-scale paid internship program will be launched which will allow 3,500 graduates to take part in paid internships in public structures at the local and central government levels.”
It is worth noting that “ During the next 4 years many projects and initiatives will be implemented and the more young people are involved in these programs which is a good sign for the development of the country’s progress.” The meeting was held in a question-and-answer format and was attended by members of parliament and local government representatives who answered questions raised by attendees.
Under the camp’s umbrella young people have the opportunity to engage in various educational, sports, and cognitive activities and meetings. They receive training on various topics. This year with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the organization of the Youth Agency the youth camps hosted about 4500 young people.
