Georgia: The rehabilitation of the Mulakhi community village Lakhiri church in Georgia was a significant milestone and was completed.
The National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage has played a pivotal role in the successful rehabilitation of the church named after Ioane Makharebeli in the village of Lakhiri of the Mulakhi community.
Lakhiri Ioane Makharebeli Church is a small hall church located on the side of the village on a terrace cut on a slope. It has a wall bracket on both sides. The church is made into small, rectangular squares with a shrimp stone.

It caused the collapse of the northern boat ramp. In addition, the cornice and roofing of the church were damaged.
A comprehensive set of tasks was undertaken as part of the churchyard’s rehabilitation. The ground was cut, the north retaining wall and drainage were installed, the north pavilion was rebuilt, the damaged cornice was replaced, and the roof was replaced. These tasks ensured the church’s protection from atmospheric rainfall and kept stakeholders informed about the project’s progress.
The winning company, ‘Tower + Ltd. ‘, played a crucial role in the successful rehabilitation of the church. Their expertise and dedication in the electronic tender were instrumental in the project’s success.
The National Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage allocated a significant amount of 302 060 GEL for the rehabilitation of the statue, demonstrating their commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
Mulakhi Community Village
Mulakhi Community Village in Mestia municipality, on the southern slope of the central Dividing Ridge of the Caucasus Mountains in Svaneti, in the valley river Mulkhari, 1760m above sea level. It is also known as the Lakhiri Village. It is located 11km far from Mestia. There is the most significant number of towers in the village of Lakhiri, among the other villages.
