Rustavi, Georgia: A Large-scale tournament in cyber football – “Rustavi Cup 2025” was held in Rustavi Sports Palace in recent days. The tournament was held with the support of Rustavi City Hall and on the initiative of the Georgian Cyber Football Federation.
A cyber football tournament is a virtual football competition between players using video games. These tournaments can be held online and can include a variety of formats, such as domestic championships, international cups, and one-day tournaments.Â
The project’s main goal is to promote cyber football and the growth of cybersports in the areas. It is worth noting that “Rustavi Cup 2025” was the largest tournament in cyber football in the history of Georgia.
Rustavi City Hall shared glimpses of the Cyber football tournament on its official Facebook Page on February 17, 2025, Monday. The City Hall also shared a small note along with the snippets of the tournament.
According to the information shared by the City Hall of Rustavi, it should be noted that the tournament in Rustavi Sports Palace was held for two days and was attended by 300 amateur sportsmen.
It should be mentioned that out of all the competitors, 128 moved to the tournament’s second round, and the winner was chosen from among them.
It should be noted that the winning athlete got a “Rustavi Cup-2025” and a cash award but along with this a special gift from Rustavi City Hall was presented to all tournament competitors including the winner.
The tournament was attended by Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze, MPs Aleksandre Dalakishvili and Irakli Shatakishvili.
In addition to Rustavi, cyber football tournaments will be held in 7 different cities of Georgia and will end in Mestia in June. The prize fund for the championship is 100,000 GEL.
