Rustavi: The administration of the Rustavi Municipality of Georgia has decided to host the International Symposium of Sculptors. The Mayor of Rustavi announced the opening of this month-long international symposium, which will also include many local and foreign artists.
The Mayor of the Rustavi municipality, Nino Latsabidze, shared the information on her social media handles. She added in her Facebook post that “ it is a very happy moment for all of us that our team has restored another interesting tradition in Rustavi—the International Symposium of Sculptors.”
She added, “We have promised the people of Rustaveli the new projects, and we want to create new opportunities for Rustaveli residents by restoring these forgotten traditions, festivals, and a new vision of the city’s development.”
“The International Symposium of Sculptors was founded in the 90s era of the last century. After years, we are very happy again, along with 8 Georgian sculptors and 5 foreign artists who will participate. During the next month, they will work in the symposium space and create very interesting sculptures and compositions that will stay in our city and be placed in different places. This venue will be an interesting opportunity for the local, regional, and international tourists as well,” stated Mayor Nino Latsabidze, adding this will be one of the successful symposiums.
The mayor, while opening the international sculptor symposium, carved a stone as a symbolic beginning. She was also accompanied by many representatives of the municipality. Many large stones were placed of the construction space which were carved out by these artists to give them beautiful shapes.
On this occasion the mayor also addressed the attendees. She again reiterated the municipality’s commitment to rejuvenating the region’s old and traditional values. She also encouraged the present artist to work hard and dedicate herself. Moreover the mayor also extended her gratitude to the artist who was there to give a new direction to the artwork.
