Saint Lucia: PM Pierre congratulates winners of 41st National Sports Awards

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, congratulated the winners of the 41st National Sports Awards. PM Philip J Pierre shared the congratulatory message on Facebook, where he extended his heartiest felicitations, writing- Congratulations to the ones celebrated at the 41st National Sports Awards event which was held at the Royalton Resort and Spa on February 18, 2023. 

The winners of the respective categories of the National Awards are enlisted as follows:  

• In the Junior Sportswoman of the Year, Mikaili Charlmagne received the award for Swimming.
• For Junior Sportsman of the Year in Swimming, Tristan Dorville was selected as the winner.
• Julien Alfred bagged the Sportswoman of the Year award in Athletics.
• The Sportsman of the Year was awarded to Jayhan Odlum-Smith in Swimming.

PM Pierre also shared the images of the recipients of the national awards. He also wished them a successful career ahead in their respective fields. Along with this, PM Pierre also thanked the supporters of the athletes who took time out from their schedule and came to motivate their favourite athletes.

At the same time, PM Pierre stressed the important contribution of the parents of the athletes who dedicated their lifetime efforts towards their development. 

Further, he expressed a word of gratitude for the coaches under whose supervision and mentorship the athletes have performed at the peak of their capabilities and the Sports Ministry of Saint Lucia. Notably, the role of the Sports Ministry has been significant in hosting the 41st National Awards.
