Georgia: The Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia, Tea Akhvlediani opened the meeting of the Governmental Commission on Civil Equality and Integration with a welcome speech. The meeting was held at the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality on 26 March 2025, Wednesday.
At the meeting, Tea Akhvlediani presented the State Strategy’s Activities Report for 2024 and the Draft Action Plan for 2025-26 to the Governmental Commission on Civil Equality and Integration.
It is worth noting that the Commission meeting discussed the process of implementing the goals and objectives set out within five key strategic priorities, key outcomes achieved for 2024, and the future vision for the next two-year cycle of the Action Plan. As the Minister of State noted, as a result of the efforts and activities made within the public policy on civil equality and integration, the quality of integration of ethnic minorities is gradually improving, based on an inter-agency approach to addressing existing needs.
Following the approval of the consolidated report of activities for 2024, the document will be published on the website of the Minister of State and will be available to all interested parties, and the action plan of the “State Strategy of Civil Equality and Integration” for 2025-2026 will be submitted to the Government of Georgia for approval.
In her speech, the Georgian state minister noted, “Today, we summarized the results of last year’s activities and the trends of the development of civic integration with ethnic minorities living in our country.”
According to her statement, it should be noted that the draft consolidated action plan for the next two years has been approved, and it will be developed through a comprehensive analysis of existing needs, joint efforts of all relevant government agencies, and recommendations received from civil society.
In addition, the draft plan was posted on the official website of the Minister of State, which provided the opportunity to present opinions from all relevant parties.
“To achieve interconnected strategic goals, our future activities will remain unchanged priorities: improving the level of knowledge of the state language, access to quality education, economic integration, participation, and intercultural dialogue, achieving sustainable results,” stated Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani.
