Georgia: The Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Tea Akhvlediani participated in the event dedicated to the Day of Georgian Language and addressed the audience with a welcome speech. She congratulated attendees on Georgian Language Day and highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the state language.
The event dedicated to the Georgian Language Day was held on the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. The Minister of Education, Science and Youth Aleksandre Tsuladze, Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Nino Tsilosan, Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia Roin Metreveli and Chairman of the State Language Department Gia Alibegashvili congratulated the guests on Georgian Language Day.
Within the event, the Minister of Education awarded honorary awards to linguists and teachers, who have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and development of the Georgian language.
The Minister of State Tea Akhvlediani in her welcome speech noted, “On today’s event we focused attention on the importance of protecting the Georgian language and its state status, one of the main pillars of our national identity.”
In this regard, the minister also expressed her deepest respect to all the talented people who have played a special role and still do in the protection and development of the Georgian language and she also showed her respect to all the teachers who have an important contribution, especially in the areas with ethnic minorities.
