UK: British Premier Boris Johnson has released a 37-second video address on Victory Day over Fascism and expressed his support for the Ukrainian people.

In a video address, Johnson says that he is confident that Ukraine will win this war.

“As we celebrate Victory Day over Fascism in World War II, at the same time, a European nation is fighting a brutal invasion of the enemy.

The British PM further added that respect for those who fought in WWII gave more power to extend our help to the Ukrainians. The 75th year since WWII ended was to be commemorated in 2020; however, COVID-19 spoiled the plans. Thus, the 77th year is being commemorated with as much fervour.

They demand nothing more than to live in their own peaceful and free land, to which everyone has the right. Those who believe in this and want the same for their own country share a responsibility to stand by Ukraine against Russian President Putin’s aggression.

On the 75th day after the Russian invasion, the Ukrainians are fighting with unwavering strength and courage, repelling Russian attacks on Kyiv and showing the world that no number of troops can surpass the people who are determined to be free.

We, the UK, are proud to have supported our Ukrainian friends since the start of the war, providing them with javelins and various techniques to repel enemy attacks both on land as well as in the air and water. We have also provided them with more than მილი 1 billion in economic, medical and humanitarian assistance.

We have condemned Putin’s war at the UN and all other international forums. When this suffering is over, the UK will help Ukraine rebuild its country and protect itself from future attacks.

On the day of the victory over fascism, I had never been so sure that Ukraine would win this war; Ukraine would be free, sovereign and will rise again. “Britain will be by Ukraine’s side for as long as it takes,” Boris Johnson said.
