Moreover, The Prime Minister of Georgia has urged the international community to take all necessary steps “to stop Russia’s flagrant violation of international order and prevent further military escalation.”

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s decision to recognize the independence of Ukrainian regions on February 21 came after a request from Russia’s Security Council, and the Russian State Duma unanimously backed the Communist Party’s initiative to recognize the independence of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.

On Thursday, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, declared the beginning of Russia’s operation, following his recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine earlier this week.

Putin urged Ukrainian soldiers to “lay down their arms” and pledged to “demilitarise and denationalize” the country.

Several top leaders of the country took to Twitter to condemn this military action, including Boris Johnson. Johnson tweeted, “This is a catastrophe for our continent. I will make an address to the nation this morning on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I will also speak to fellow G7 leaders, and I am calling for an urgent meeting of all NATO leaders as soon as possible.”

President Joe Biden also tweeted, ” Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring, and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive way. The world will hold Russia accountable.”

As per the reports, Ukraine’s President said the Russian military has carried out missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and the country’s border guards.

As per the sources, adviser to Ukraine President Office said more than 40 Ukrainian troops are dead and several dozen wounded.
