St Kitts and Nevis: PM Terrance Drew recounts SKNLP’s accomplishments in an interview

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: On January 28. 2023, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew featured in a radio interview with Winn Media, where he recounted the accomplishments of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party(SKNLP) under his tenure of leadership, which began from August 2022. PM Drew outlined the progress country has made within few months of him assuming the office.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: On January 28. 2023, the  St Kitts and Nevis PM Terrance Drew featured in a radio interview with Winn Media, where he recounted the accomplishments of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party(SKNLP) under his tenure of leadership, which began from August 2022. PM Drew outlined the progress country has made within few months of him assuming the office.

Enlisting the achievements, PM Drew mentioned that the recommencement of travel was one of the beneficial feats for the country as the economy had already sustained a lot of damage from the travel restrictions that had to be imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it was necessary to have those restrictions lifted for the sake of the economic revival of St Kitts and Nevis.

PM Terrance Drew also talked about the honorarium payments for the frontline workers who selflessly served humanity during the unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Additionally, PM Drew asserted the severance payments, that government had made to the individuals who lost their jobs during the pandemic, while his government also aided the parents of the children requiring overseas medical treatments.

In the interview, PM Terrance Drew also mentioned about the requirement of the Universal Health Care system for the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis., adding that his government has been working tirelessly towards this direction to uplift thestandard of the healthcare facilities in the country. Meanwhile, new appointments are being made for various positions in the healthcare sector, including new doctors, nurses , directors and new permanent secretary.

PM Terrance Drew also publicized the status of the MRI machine, noting that it has been ordered and constructions for housing enclosure for the machine have also begun. Further, he added that the government is also working on a new state-of-the-art hospital, which will further lift the healthcare standards of the country.
