The Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection from the Occupied Territories of Georgia met with the Ministers of Health of Geneva, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
At the bilateral meeting with Armenian colleague Anahit Avanesian, the conversation was about the long-term cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia in the field of health care. Discussed issues of prevention, diagnosis and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The parties shared their experiences in the field of export, distribution and procurement of pharmaceutical products. The conversation between the two countries also touched on the issues of medical tourism.
Existing cooperation in the field of health care and future plans were discussed at the meeting with the Kazakh colleague. Giniat Azhari was interested in ongoing and implemented reforms in the field of healthcare in Georgia.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects for the development of partnership cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan.
The Minister of Health of Georgia also attended the 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva. First Deputy Tamar Gabunia and Alexander Maisuradze, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN Department and other international organizations in Geneva.
Zurab Azarashvili attended the opening of the World Health Assembly in Geneva. The main theme for this year’s Health Assembly is “Health for Peace, Peace for Health”.
