Aragvi Protected Landscape Administration will receive a grant amount of 150,000 euros

Tbilisi: A memorandum was signed on the 10th of November, 2023, by the Aragvi protected Landscape administration with the Caucasus Nature Foundation. Under the provisions of the memorandum, the landscape administration is all set to receive financial assistance amounting to 150,000 euros from the Caucasus Nature Foundation.

Tbilisi: A memorandum was signed on the 10th of November, 2023, by the Aragvi protected Landscape administration, Georgia, with the Caucasus Nature Foundation. Under the provisions of the memorandum, the landscape administration is all set to receive financial assistance amounting to 150,000 euros from the Caucasus Nature Foundation.

The memorandum was signed by Davit Nozadze, the Governor of the Mtskheta-mitaneti region, the Mayor of Dusheti Municipality Manana (Matsato) Narimanidze, executive director of the CNF Foundation Elizebeth Mesud and director of Aragvi protected landscape administration Nato Tskaruashvilli.

The non-profit organisation Caucasus Nature Foundation was established in the year 2007. This was established with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the German Development Bank, Conservation International and WWF Germany.

It is to be specifically mentioned that after 2009, the foundation started work with the cooperation of the Georgia government. The main focused area of work of the foundation was working on the issues relating to protected areas.

Moreover, in the year 2021, the Caucasus Nature Foundation expanded the area of its functioning. It was the post 2022 era when the foundation began to support protected landscapes.

The protected landscapes are the new areas that are covered under the jurisdiction of the Municipalities. These areas are governed and managed by the local Municipalities. Aragvi’s protected Landscape spread over almost 99,902 hectares of area.

On the signing ceremony of the memorandum, the director of administration, Nato Tskaruashvili, expressed his gratitude and thanked the executive director of the Caucasus Nature Foundation, Elizabeth Mesud, and other dignitaries for their cooperation and support they extended to the administration of Aragvi Protected Landscape.

Another memorandum was also signed between the Caucasus Nature Foundation and Gela Fitskhelauri, head of the Truso Protected Landscape Management Centre.

The member of the foundation at the ceremony stated that the Nature Foundation determined to make every possible effort for the protected Landscape with the assistance of local Municipalities.
