The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Georgia recently announced the selection competition for the project. These projects will be presented at the Venice Biennale of Art exhibition in Italy.
Georgian Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth announces this dedicated competition for the selection of an exceptional project to be present at the 60th International Exhibition of Modern Art Venice in Italy.
It is to be specifically mentioned that The project should respond to the main theme of the 2024 60th International Exhibition of Contemporary Art, Venice Biennale. The theme of this year’s exhibition will be “Foreigners are everywhere“.The Georgian Project, at the same time, will connect the audience with Georgian creativity and cultural context.
As per the Ministry Guidelines, the budget of the project presented by the contestant should not exceed 200,000 GEL, which will include marketing, advertising and all other expenses.
As per the terms and condtion of Competition, a natural or legal person and group of persons has the right to attend in the competition, regardless of the place of their registration and civil affiliation.
Additionally, to participate in the competition, which includes an artist, contemporary visual arts scientist, curator, and group of curators, must have at least five years of experience in implementing international projects and/or participating in similar projects.
Their unique project should be in line with the modern international artistic process and standard and, at the same time aligned with terms of Georgian creative, intellectual and cultural trends in terms of the history of modern Georgian art.
Applications for participation of the Interested participants will be accepted from December 9, 2023, to January 1, 2024, at 18:00 at the office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia. Addtionally information about the winning projects in the competition will be published on the Ministry’s official Facebook page no later than January 8, 2024
This 60th Venice International Exhibition – the Venice Biennale will open on 20 April 2024 and close on 24 November.
It is worth to note the Venice Biennale is a Global art exhibition that takes place in Venice, Italy, once in every two years. The Biennale Foundation hosted this international exhibition. It features architecture, visual arts, cinema, dance, music, and theatre. The Biennale is old competition having been held annually since 1895.
