As per the officials of the Adjara local governmentn construction works of the modern water and irrigation system project are going to begin in Adjara. The cost of the large-scale infrastructure project is about 100 million euros. This was disclosed by officials at a recently concluded meeting.
The Contract for the construction of the historical project was officially signed. Under the scope of the project the people of 39 villages and villages of Adjara will benefit from modern standards, uninterrupted water supply and managed irrigation infrastructure.
The project has plans to build water supply on main sites along with highway networks, reservoirs, sewer treatment sites, water supply networks, laboratories and administrative buildings of municipal water supply enterprises.
Construction works will start simultaneously in all municipalities of Ajara, and these villages of the cities will be included in the system of new, modern standards of construction that will be carried out step by step. As a result in 2024 at the first stage ten villages of three municipalities will get the benefits from 24-hour water supply.
At the same time within the framework of the construction work in 2024 the projects that will be built include ten water supply top dumps, 137 km long water supply pipes, nine reservoirs, seven water supply treatment bins, 978 water supply special pits (septic), five water supply company offices.
For the implementation of the “Adjara Water Alliance”, municipal water supply plants were created. Similarly 22 special equipment have been purchased which are already deployed in municipalities.
The Adjara government and the Adjara Water Alliance is implementing the Adjara water supply and irrigation project, which is co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany within the framework of the support of KfW Bank and the European Union.
The basic needs of the water supply will be fulfilled on a priority basis as per the officials of the Adjara administration as well. The official said that the demand of people for pure and clean water supply will be fulfilled as soon as possible.
