Tbilisi: The agency of the protected areas of Georgia has arranged a media tour. This was to highlight Georgia’s tourist attractions and attract a maximum number of tourists to the country.
The representatives of the central and local media were part of this media tour, which was organized by the agency of protected areas. The members of this media tour delegation visited different places during the tour.
The primary destinations the media delegation covers include the Okatse Canyon, Okatse Waterfall, Tetra Cave, and Kolkheti National Park. It should be noted that the mentioned protected areas are outstanding destinations for tourists and offer various services to visitors, especially a large number of international tourists visit every year to these tourist hotspots.
On this occasionv the representatives of Georgian media got acquainted with the country’s tourist attractions and activities that can be carried out while visiting protected areas. The protected areas have been established to protect the country’s flora and fauna and its rich biodiversity along with natural resources.
It is to be mentioned explicitly that the Agency of Protected Areas organized the media event within the framework of the “Save Nature-Georgia” project. The project Save Nature Georgia is being run by the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and the Swedish Government. The media tour aims to promote the country’s tourism potential in the domestic market.
Besik Kusidvthe prominent acting chairman of the Protected Areas Agency along with Toma Dekanoidze deputy chairman and Natia Beridze manager of the “Save Nature-Georgia” programvattended the event.
The representative of the agency of protected areas while addressing the mediavstated that “The main purpose of the media tour is to spread the awareness among the public about the tourism destination and how to explore these destinations while following the rules and regulations which are necessary for the protection of the natural resources of Georgia Every year a huge number of tourists visited the country to see the naturally beautiful landscapes.”
